An Angel is defined in the dictionary as “a spiritual being believed to act as an attendant, agent, or messenger of God”
Through out the Bible there are times when angels had conversations with humans. In the book of Luke angles appear and announce the two important births. First when an angel appears to Zachariah to inform him that he will have a son, John the Baptist. In Luke 1:26 the Archangel Gabriel appears to Mary to let her know that she will give birth to Jesus Christ.
In the many historic cemeteries on the backroads of Texas you can find so many beautiful angels on headstones and monuments watching over people’s love ones. The earlier settlers in Texas had a strong belief of God. These folks lived in a time without the many distractions we have today. In many cases the only book they owned was a Bible. The local church was not only a house of worship it was also a meeting place for the community.
The Angels of the Backroads, are not only a reminder that God’s angels are always with us – they always will be!
